Transitioning from Winter to Spring

I can’t express to you how ready I am for spring. Seattle has been gray and rainy for what seems like forever! Unfortunately, there isn’t the perfect day where we wake up and find ourselves out of winter and into spring. While we can’t whip out our sundresses and bikinis quite yet, enjoy 7 easy steps to transition from winter to spring featuring some of my favorite Seattle bloggers!

1. Wear Spring Colors in Heavier Fabrics

It might not be warm enough to wear your pastel romper so opt for warmer clothes in spring colors. Aika of Aika’s Love Closet will stay perfectly warm in this blush fur coat while still sporting a springtime trend and this year’s Pantone Color of the Year!

2. Get a Haircut

I chose to transition into springtime by getting a haircut…a drastic one at that. Although chopping off this much hair might not be your thing, reshaping your hair or adding some color will instantly refresh your look as we move toward warmer months.

3. Update Your Makeup Look

How many days you been sporting the same black liquid liner? For me, longer than I can remember. It’s time to change up your makeup look and embrace new trends that come with spring. Seattle makeup artist, Ambra Sookram, is wearing a gorgeous springtime makeup look full of color.

4. Transition to a Springtime Coat

There’s no doubt we still need a coat during spring in Seattle. But, that coat doesn’t have to be our black, waterproof, knee length winter jacket. Escape the feeling of winter by transitioning to a lighter weight jacket. Kaitlyn of Coffee and Vogue updates her winter style with this chic beige trench coat.

5. Grab some Self Tanner!

Nothing says spring like a sun kissed glow! While we can’t bake in the sun quite yet, we can opt for the UV Free  alternative, self tanner. Sabrina of Gypsy Tan knows the importance of a little color on the skin. Her last name is tan, she owns a tanning salon, and her blog is Gypsy Tan!

6. Learn to Layer

Spring is all about changing weather. Cold to warm to hot and back to cold, sometimes all in one day. Your outfit has to work for all temperatures. The key is layering. Rebecca of Blogger Not Billionaire, is the queen of layering! Take a tip from Rebecca and prepare yourself with multiple layers in the morning to take on any changes in the weather.

7. Accessorize Strategically

Jewels look so much better in the sunlight! This spring, accessorize with warmer, brighter metallics. Opt for gold or rose gold instead of silver, black, or gunmetal. Tina of Just a Tina Bit wears bright gold accessories that make a statement and warm up the neutral colors in her outfit.

  1. Such a fun and creative post! I always enjoy your writing, plus I learned about some Seattle bloggers who I didn’t know about. Can you update the link for Coffee and Vogue (love her look)? It’s directing to Ambra’s site. Thanks.
