On a weekend trip to Portland, my boyfriend and I were given the opportunity to visit the Nike employee store. While I scanned the shoes, my thoughts went from what I would wear on the treadmill to what I would wear on the streets of Seattle. I looked at shoe after shoe until one caught my eye…the Nike Dunk Sky Hi Joli. Ah the black leather, cut outs, and wedge…either these were completely ridiculous or completely amazing. I decided completely amazing and made the purchase.
I’ve never been a good basketball player and my 5′ 3” stature never encouraged me. However with a shoe called the Nike Dunk Ski Hi Joli, my first thought was basketball. Michelle and I headed to a nearby basketball court to fully embrace the essence of my new Nikes.

I like to keep my look casual but sophisticated with my Nikes. I wanted this outfit to be simple with the focus on the shoes and the bag. I love the contrast of white pants with the black leather shoes – it really makes them stand out! Obviously the high ponytail was the perfect final touch.
With such awesome shoes, they had to be put to action.
I want to give a special shout out to these basketball hoops that were created for 4th graders. I finally got that “touch the net” feeling.
My Nikes gave me the power to explore a new side of my personal style and discover the world of sporty chic. Hell, sneakers may just become my new wardrobe essential! However for now, I’ll continue adjusting from being described as “cute” to “dope, sick, and on point.”
