Setting Sale

I can’t believe how quickly June came and went. Work, weddings, and a trip to Montana kept me far from blogging.  Thankfully, life slowed down and I have time to share some of my favorite summer looks. I adore summer for the cute shorts, strappy sandals, beach hair, and breezy maxi dresses – like this one! For this post, I created a feminine look perfect for a wedding, a date, girls night out, or brunch. Did I mention it’s only $50?!

As you know, I love a good deal. I walked through Forever 21 and this dress immediately grabbed my attention. It looks so expensive and it only cost $17! The perfect addition to this dress is a light wash denim jacket for $34. The jean jacket is my favorite to wear with a maxi dress because it keeps the look casual for the daytime.

These earrings by Saressa Designs became a staple in my wardrobe and add a touch of  understated sparkle without overshadowing the dress.  Also, on this day I was dealing with a legitimate “hot mess” issue. My face and chest were extremely sunburned…I’m talking tomato red. I rarely use foundation but Make Up For Ever HD Foundation saved the day! I highly recommend it for daily and special occasion use .

The detail on the back of this dress is so elegant. The tie allows for the neckline to be adjusted to fit perfectly. But I think the best part might be the way the light flows the sheer fabric.

As the sun sets on another hot day, I am more convinced that summer is my favorite season for fashion. While I enjoy the science of layering scarves and vests in autumn, I love the simplicity of summer fashion. Getting dressed is easier without worrying about wearing a warm jacket or bringing boots to combat puddles.  The comfort of warm air, refreshing cool water, and energy from the sunshine fuels my wardrobe choices. I’m fairly certain I won’t ever tire of pink lipstick, maxi dresses, and sun bleached hair.
