Flashback to Fashion First

Last Friday I was invited to Fashion First Seattle, an annual Seattle fashion show raising money for the Inspire Youth Project. Obviously, I was excited. After days of envying bloggers prancing around New York Fashion Week, I felt like I finally would get my fashion fix.

As with every fashionista, I had a full closet but nothing to wear. You think I’m exaggerating but I know it’s happened to you too. So with my reluctance to spend money and desire for designer fashion I was left at a dead end. Then I remembered Rent the Runway [Insert angels singing and clouds parting].

I hopped online and with a few over excited clicks I found the perfect dress – $40 to rent for 4 days, 20% off my first order, and a free backup size. Yeah, I patted myself on the back.

Dress: Clover Canyon  / Shoes: Christian Louboutin (post soon to come! You already know I didn’t pay full price for these) Earrings: Similar here and here

This dress is by Clover Canyon. I love that the business-like silhouette is contrasted by the abstract pattern. It’s the perfect combo of chic and fun.

As part of the “media” at Fashion First, I watched the show from the VIP blogger style lounge where I met some amazing Seattle bloggers!

The show was comprised of around 10 different designers and boutiques showcasing fall fashion for men and women, swimwear, and custom women’s Seahawks apparel from the Art Institute of Seattle. I compiled a few of my favorite looks from Fashion First Seattle.

I love that I live in a city that celebrates style. It goes to show you, you don’t have to be in Paris, New York, or Milan to witness cutting edge fashion.
