Bit by the Designer Bug

As a recent college graduate, I usually do not have access to designer fashion. Right now, the closest I get to owning a pair of Valentino rock stud heels or a Givenchy bag is drooling outside a shop window.  However, during the last two weeks, I was bit by the designer bug…well two bugs: Alexander McQueen and Gucci. But how?! Well, working at Nordstrom has perks.

This outfit was inspired by my recent infatuation with minimalist fashion. Minimalist fashion is about reducing your wardrobe to basics that are interchangeable and able to create many outfits. This outfit embraces minimalist style by including only three pieces: a neutral crop top, a black pencil skirt, and nude shoes. I chose to add one accent piece – the McQueen scarf.

I preach my thrifty finds and rather modest lifestyle so I’ll be completely transparent about how I afforded an Alexander McQueen that retails for $295. Recently, Nordstrom price matched McQueen scarfs with a 30% discount. With my employee 20% discount on top of that, it was much more affordable.

So you’re wondering where is the Gucci? Well ladies and gentlemen, here it is! My new Gucci sunglasses and they are quite beautiful. Again with the transparency, there are perks for selling the most Gucci sunglasses in one month. Seattle Fashion Blog

Let’s not pretend like I’m not excited about these.

So yes, I’ve been introduced to Gucci and McQueen and I must say, we’re in love. But until I can commit financially to an exclusive relationship, I’ll just have to see these two on the side.
