I can’t believe I am writing my 100th blog post today! I moved from Montana to Seattle in September 2014 and started Hot Dress Hot Mess with no idea how it would progress. It’s been a process of self discovery, constantly getting dressed in the backseat of my car, late nights typing, and making my boyfriend take my #OOTD. I’m going to use my 100th blog post to highlight my journey with some of my favorite posts and outfits over the years…and some serious throwbacks. Enjoy :)
First Post, 9/30/14: A Bus is Not a Train
My first post had nothing to do with fashion, but rather about when I boarded a bus thinking it was the light rail. This was a hot mess moment for sure!
First Outfit Post, 10/24/14: Color Me Autumn
My first outfit pictures were taken by my boyfriend wandering around Queen Anne using my old Sony Cybershot camera. It’s cute, but we’ve come a long way since then.
Some of my first Instagram pictures 🙈
First Professional Photo Shoot, 1/1/15: A Navy New Year
This was my first shoot with Michelle Dorman, who takes the majority of my photos. These definitely upped my blog game.
2/27/15, Sugar Rush
Embracing my “hot mess” side, I photographed a chic outfit and then shoved a chocolate cupcake in my face.
5/14/15, Bit by the Designer Bug
I still love this look! I introduced how I scored Gucci and McQueen at a discount with this minimal look.
1/21/16, Fashion Blogger Bloopers
For all the picture perfect photos, there are plenty of bloopers. As a certified “hot mess,” here’s some proof. An updated version will be coming soon!
5/4/16, Pink Lemonade
I wrote this post right after Beyoncé’s Lemonade dropped and was feeling truly inspired. So like any Beyoncé fan would do, I packed this post full of Lemonade lyrics and puns. I ain’t sorry.
This is one of my favorite posts I’ve written. It’s all about growing up and feeling like you live two lives – one of structure and one of total confusion.
After hundreds of Instagram photos and plenty of blog posts, I wanted to reveal what my day to day life and full time job is really like.
Here’s 20 things you don’t know about me including old high school pics, my love for Hello Kitty, and the many rap concerts I’ve attended. It’s random, a little weird, but honestly me.
